A Note from our President

I would like to take the opportunity to welcome everyone to the Bayou State Corvette Club.  We are a group of Corvette enthusiasts who come together to share a common bond in that we all like Corvettes.  You do not have to own a Corvette to join, just be a Corvette enthusiast.  I would like to invite you to attend our meeting on the 15th of February to meet us and to learn more about our club.  We are looking forward to fun year.

A Note from our Activity Chair

I hope that all of you members had a Merry and Happy Holiday season and that everyone is in good health. My name is Paul Giambrone, Jr., your new Activity Chairman for the Bayou State Corvette Club for 2018. This letter goes out to you with hopes of seeing all of you, at one point or another, during the upcoming year. First, we have a new president and his name is Clint Morgan. He and I share a very common goal and that is to get our club members to participate in activities involving our favorite past time, Corvette’s! Although you may not know Clint or myself, we have some activities planned, but need your participation, as well as your suggestions and ideas for future events.

As your activity chairman, I have several activities planned for the first few months of 2018. Remember, no matter how I think these events are good in my mind, I need to know if there is something you like or would like to try! The club officers only want to do what , the members are interested in doing! Monthly meetings are not that bad and only last about 45 minutes or less. At adjournment, the group generally heads to a restaurant nearby and enjoys each other’s company, stories or whatever it is you wish to discuss. This is when and where our activities are discussed, planned and carried out. We have 100 members in the Bayou State Corvette Club, come on out to a meeting, a Cruise-In, Car Show, etc.

I have the following planned for our members, and guest with hopes that we can draw from you as far as attendance and input are concerned.

This is in no particular order:
1. A Fun Rally
2. Day at the Golf Course
3. New Cruse-in location: Autozone on Ambassador Caffery
4. Painting on the Geaux
5. Target Shooting-Skeet

Look on our website as details, dates and locations will be published. As Activity Chairman, I would like to see the newsletter of our web page re-introduced on a bi-monthly time frame or more often as needed. If you would be interested in heading this up, please contact Clint or myself. Help the club to be more of a club with your participation. If you would like to suggest an idea or event, don’t hesitate and contact me and let’s try to get “the ball rolling on your idea.” My email address:pgjr103052@gmail.com. My phone number is 985-768-1250, call or text me, I would love to hear from you, one and all!

Save the Wave!

Our next club meeting is February 15, 2018 at Service Chevrolet at 1212 Ambassador Caffery. Meeting starts at 6:30 pm., usually followed by dinning out.

Car Show 2018

Our Annual Car Show is slated for November 3rd, 2018 at Cajun Harley Davidson.  The flyer for the show and the sponsor form are being updated and will be uploaded on our Event/Show Flyer page.  Be sure to contact Maxie Rodriguez to let him know how you will help out at this year’s show.  Many hands make for light work and we’d like to have another great show this year.

Corvettes and Coffee

Ken Turner has invited the club members to join him and his friends on Saturday mornings for Corvettes and Coffee.  The meeting place is subject to change but they usually meet around 8:00am, weather permitting, to drink coffee, talk about their cars, and solve the world’s problems. If you’d like to join them, contact Ken Turner and they will add you to their text group to get updates on locations.

Swap Shop

Check out our new Swap Shop page.  If you’ve got something to sell, your car, your parts, or anything Corvette related, send an email to Ken Turner and he’ll add it to the website.  Make sure to let him know when it sells, so that the page can stay up to date.

 Local Car Cruise In

Check the calendar for a new local cruise in at Twin Peaks on Johnston St in front of the mall, on the 4th Sunday of the month from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.  Take a look at the other ones available each week.  If you are looking for something to do, the calendar is your place to check.  If you come across a car show or cruise in that is not listed, let us know so we can add.
